Through GC3 clinical work in the AIC Kijabe Hospital ICU, several GC3 members, in partnership with the Kijabe hospital staff, were able to care for a young woman who had persistent seizures prior to the birth of her baby. She underwent an emergency C-section and required heavy sedating medications for nearly a week before the seizures were controlled. However, she would not wake up for weeks despite brain imaging showing no damage. After being in a coma for nearly 21 days, she woke up and is now fully recovered with no residual deficits. She and the baby are doing well and following up at Kijabe Hospital!
